I purchased my (replacement) Macrobotrys from Glasshouse Works. He layers cuttings from his established specimen. I was very happy with the health of my start and it looks to have survived our -30F cold snap over the winter. I'm excited to train it up to our 2nd story porch railing over the next few years!

We have had some success trying to eliminate it by cutting the vines and runners close to the ground and treating them with glyphosate solution. Be aware that wind can spread the seeds far from the parent plant. The twenty foot long runners also can spread the vine quickly.

they branch out underground and after a while rise up and begin to form,
to produce new plants from an old one simply cut a 6-whatever inch section of a set of roots that has started to sprout and already has its first leaves, then plant:)
