Taste is good...Read More, great on sandwiches, in salads, and pretty much anyway you want to cook them. Thin skinned, tangy, and profuse. Plants in my garden did not grow to the monster size of some other indeterminates, but even so Djena held up to the competition in production and flavor.
I plan on growing this tomato for a good, long time; and somehow it gives me comfort to know that this historic variety will be loved long after my time in a garden, just as it was long before my time on Earth.
This tomato won the taste test at the World's Fair ten years in a row. That should tell us something about its wonderful, old-fashioned taste. If you are looking for a good heirloom with an interesting story, here she is!

They produce all summer and I even had some blooms set fruit in October after a light frost.
