But this is the most invasive bamboo I have ever planted, and i have over 30 species in the yard. Be VERY careful when planting this weed... roots can travel 15' and show up every where. And even though its a fairly narrow culm, it is very tough to pull up. It's papery covering over the culms/stems can easily penetrate little fibers into your skin if you mess with it without gloves on. You HAVE to use a rhizome barrier with these species unless you want you yard inundated with it!
Yes it is a running bamboo, so take note never plant a running bamboo in your garden, but this bamboo looks very attractive in pots
