Needs a well drained but constantly moist, humus rich soil in light shade.
Excellent woodland garden plant for naturalising.
Seed germination is slow and erratic, they germinate well with alternating warm and cold stratification. The whole process can take upwards of 3 months. Dividing the bulbs is a much easier option if you know someone who has this plant but be sure the bulbs NEVER dry out, if you are going to pack them for a couple of weeks, keep them in damp potting media.
Erythronium dens-canis is a native plant here in Austria. In gardens it blooms early in the year and needs shady place under shrubs or trees
