Slow-growing, beautiful small tree/large shrub. Had mine planted in 3/4 day of full sun and that caused leaf curling and scorch by June ...Read Moreever year. However, too much sun caused no permanent damage from year to year.
This spring transplanted it to an area that gets full morning sun and shade from 2 pm or so on. Hoping that is shady enough in our hot summers to keep the foliage from burning.
It is about 4'x4' in size and was planted 4 years ago from a 5 gal pot.

Our second try is an understory tree and it is WONDERFUL.

Reportedly more tolerant of sun of the variegated varieties, but this cultivar still should be shaded from the afternoon southern sun. Another great kousa dogwood.
