Floribunda Rose 'Summer Fashion'

It made it through the fir...Read Morest winter, and then in the following spring it threw out six huge blooms (6") at the same time. My previous experience with roses had been with wild roses or old garden roses, and in my mind a rose bloom was an inch or two in diameter. I had never seen anything like the blooms this rose produced. The blooms were fragrant, too.

In my experience its growth habit was more like a hybrid tea than a floribunda, with single blooms on a stem, but the plant was short like a floribunda and the stems were not as long as one would like them for a hybrid tea.

Unfortunately, I knew little about getting roses through the winter back in those days, and it died in its second or third winter. I have not seen it in a garden store or seed catalog since. This rose was a positive experience for me; it was a major factor getting me "hooked" on growing roses.
