In normal "Ga. clay" soil, with a ph 5.8, the sterile sepals of the younger plants start bright pink and turn lavendar/purple (possibly turning blue in another week), and the two older plants are amazing shades of deep blue with some purple and pink in the fertile flowers. The colors are softer in mid-day light, and almost of neon intensity before dusk. These are not fussy plants--easy to grow and stunning when several are planted next to each other.
