Lustrous dark green leaves. White, double sterile florets that look like stars, arranged in a ring and sometimes scattered through fertile flowers. The flowerheads are exceptionally large. Flowering time is long, until October. Professor Dirr reports that this cultivar is not very hardy.
Trademarked names are FIREWORKS, VUURWERK, and FEU D'ARTIFICE. Bred by T. Yamamoto, Japan in 1960. AKA 'Sumida-no-Hanabi', 'Hanabi-Ajisai'.
