One of the few red cannas that does not fade in hot sun. Not self-cleaning but old flowers drop in windy weather and are not obtrusive as they melt into the colour of stems and pods.

Very long lasting flowers that just go on and on. Good branching habit and attractive dark green foliage with a slight waxey blue bloom and a fine burgundy edge. Flowers heads are beautifully poised at just the right height above the leaves to give a well balanced look.

Should be planted amongst paler pink cannas as it clashes horribly with other red cannas, being quite a vivid cerise red.

Increases quickly giving a constant display from new stems. An old heritage cultivar, but still one of the best.

Seems to be only available in Australia.
