Canna, Canna Lily 'Ermine'

This is my first year growing this and I have to add how well these flowers hold up to the heat. I have a red canna 4' from this plant an...Read Mored it's flowers are wilting on the first day (and it's only the beginning of May!!) but Ermine's flowers are lasting so long I'm not sure how long it is, at least a week. This is in full AZ sun and getting watered like other plants. The flowers open up fully, it's just beautiful.

OCT 2013. Continues to be among my top 3 fave cannas. I transplanted to a bright shade location and while it is blooming, it is not expanding as when it was in full sun.

They are very showy and visible from the house across the pond which is about 100 yards and the white flower reflects nicely in the water. It will be quite a show in a few years after they spread, but in this climate I dig up all my canna for the winter.

And best of all, it's the only one of my cannas that will bloom when others are dormant for the winter here in southern california, had it blooming even into January one year, while all other cannas where asleep for the winter. Now 10 years later I have four pots full. Very clean plants.
