Tall Bearded Iris 'Sultan's Palace'

Another amazing Iris from Schreiners welcomed me with its lovely splash of colour for the first time this summer .

It has a wonderful flower shape and strong upright growth .

Like all the other comments say, it's a tough, dependable grower and consistent bloomer for me too. Has a much redder effect in the yard ...Read Morethan many newer reds. I would advise everyone to buy it from a reliable source, like Schreiner's, who still carries this and small quantities of many older iris not listed in their catalog. I first bought a package of what was supposed to be "Sultan's Palace" from a now defunct big box store and had four different, older, weedy looking reds show up. I then bought it directly from Schreiner's and have been pleased ever since.

An excellent workhorse iris. Grows and blooms with vigor. Stems are just a little short, but the plant more than makes up for this in the...Read More quantity and color of the bloom. Rich, deep red/maroon (the beard is the same color) with golden hafts and a beautful color pattern when looking top down into the bloom.

This one has persisted despite neglect, planting it amongst weeds, etc. Makes a really nice addition to an iris garden.

Like the cultivor Spartan, the beard should be the same color as the bloom. Too many imposters sold under this name.
