So...Read More, I thought the north central Texas heat/cold were too extreme to have vibrant colors that were as advertised. But last year, I took a stab at trying this iris. I had didn't even give it a decent start with watering. I basically forgot about it. What a surprise I had when a neighbor asked for a start this summer. BAM! Spring brought heavy blooms and good vibrant color! This is an awesome iris for the Texas gardener. Not a lot of fragrance, but has a nice iris scent. Corms multiplied very well in spite of neglect and all day, full sun in our 113 degree summers. It even survived two deep, 5+ day stretches of ice with single-digit temps. Just wonderful for zone 7b-8a, dry, poor soil with little attention.
