Unfortunately, this species is known to be associated with Phytophthora ramorum, a plant pathogen which causes Sudden Oak Death (SOD). For this reason Adiantum jordanii is not commonly cultivated and is very hard to find in nurseries.
Because of the pathogen association, it would be extremely unwise to take a plant from the wild.
