It grows in rich, well-drained soil at a pH of 5.8. The flowers vary from one to up to five per stalk. The bloom period is before, and ends just as, Lilium superbum starts. In July, I crossed L. michauxii with L. superbum and have just harvested 200 viable seeds. I will not know what the flowers will be like for another 3-5 years. It is a lovely plant well worth any effort.
