It is similar to spilanthes or "toothache plant" ...Read Morein which the chewing of the root gives a very strong tingling electric sensation in the mouth like a battery... Very fun plant
It is also a strong immune booster like Echinacea.
The plant can be a bit fussy as it is a plant found in semi-arid conditions. Needs good drainage, fog and cool winds. Does good with weather that is not too hot or cold. Bring indoors for the winter, once temps reach 30 and below.
Mine is doing well but because the growing conditions are not perfect, it is not as robust as when growing in its native environment.
Young plants are very sensitive to transplanting and shipping...
Seed may be a bit tricky to germinate but it is easy to take cuttings from this plant as there are small nodes along the stems. These will grow new roots when separated from the mature plant.
