This spring, however, it has exploded with basals, laterals, and the loveliest, fairytale flowers! Healthy, vigorous, it is near the top of my favorites list. Highly recommended! The flowers are lasting a long time for now. We’ll see how she does once the summer sun begins baking.

It grew some more foliage last year, and then this spring has put out more branches and is blossoming freely, over four feet tall and at least three feet wide. . I can detect the citrus component in the strong fragrance, but not the anise/myrrh. But that could just be me. I get hayfever this time of year. On the Kordes site, the rose is called Rosengräfin Marie Henriette.

It has been a very very hot humid summer. They have bloomed nicely ( first year) and are growing fast! Foliage is dark green no black spot at all. I am very pleased with these very fragrant roses. They do get tall. About 4 canes already.

I pruned in early February and crossed my fingers. They are now in full bloom and quite beautiful. There is no sign of blackspot yet (I do not spray, but we have not hit full humidity yet, either) and there are over a dozen buds and blooms on one plant.
The fragrance is very nice, not overpowering or something you notice from a distance, but definitely there when you put your nose close. The flower form is quite lovely. My one complaint is that they do not last--they scarcely reach full bloom before they fade out and shrivel, almost in a day. Still, I'm glad I took a chance.
