Once I put down a deterre...Read Morent it got established and grew at least 7 feet the first year. It had a few flowers in August/September and produced 2 fruits. Now in October it is again being eaten, but this time it is hosting Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis Vanillae) Butterfly caterpillars, YAY! I try to plant plants that are useful to birds, bees or butterflies, and this fits the bill perfectly. Hopefully it will survive the winter here and will be back better next spring.

Lovely! Vigorous, for sure. Had a few blooms first thing in early spring, and now it's working on taking over my house.
