This is my earliest flowering japonica and sometimes starts before any of my sasanquas. It continues flowering thru the winter although the flowers will freeze and turn brown during severe weather (for 7B). This pass summer, it survived over 50 days >100F and plant looks great and is flowering normal. I have well over 50 varieties & species of camellias, and this is one that I look foreward to blooming every year.
