Yucca periculosa is a fairly abundant large yucca growing in the Tehuacan Valley Biosphere Reserve in the border region between the Mexican states of Puebla and Oaxaca, as well as elsewhere. Growing up to 30 feet/10 meters tall and often with a hefty trunk, it dominates large stretches of desert hillsides. It is clonal, meaning it can form colonies from basal offsets, especially in favored valley spots where arroyos channel rainfall runoff and the soil deposits are deeper. I've got two 5-gallon-sized plants of this species ready to replant here in Arizona, where it should perform well. Hopefully they will grow reasonably quickly and develop a nice mature, trunk-forming character over the next decade and beyond.
