These plants were healthy and rebounded well from a shearing in August, to tidy up the plant. Had an abundance of flowers till frost.
Any ideas about WHY they all suddenly died?

It takes a bit of time to get started in the spring.
It grows about 2' tall and it seems to take a long time before the buds break into bloom (but then I'm pretty impatient once I see the buds forming).
It starts to bloom early summer and keeps on blooming right into fall!
In my garden the plant stays tall and straight for about 1-2 weeks after it starts to bloom and then it RELAXes/sprawls - which keep things a little more informal and natural.
It's planted at the front of the border, infront of some tall, grassy-looking siberian irises.
I also really like the colour (off-white petals with a yellow centre, and a touch of wine red around the yellow centre) to help break up all the purple in that area of my garden.

It looks great in midsummer and flowers with my white physostegia and heliopsis. It does flop a little but I don't mind that because it looks good flopped where it is.
