A good front-of-the-border plant, as the wiry scapes can be seen through. I found that in partial shade the scapes needed a little support. The basal foliage is attractive all season if moisture is consistent---this isn't the most drought-tolerant of perennials. Like many geums, this plant can be short-lived without frequent division.
However, according to all the catalogs, this cultivar can bloom all summer, as it is sterile. In its second year, it bloomed here in June for about three weeks. Perhaps if I cut off the old scapes quickly it will rebloom---I'll try that next year. Or perhaps it needs more sun. But all the hype has led to disappointment.
Bred by Tim Crowther in England. The cultivar name is 'Tim's Tangerine'. "Totally Tangerine" is a trade name.
I planted three of these in early spring and while they have doubled in size - they never bloomed at all which was disappointing. I'm hop...Read Moreing they bloom next year. They get morning and then late afternoon sun. If they don't bloom, I will move them to a sunnier place.
