It has lived next to a vigorous specimen of Mr. Lincoln with minimal attention and it continues to bloom throughout the summer without any pest issues to speak of. The blooms are a true fire engine red and though rather small, last for up to 2 weeks cut in a vase. Absolutely a great rose for any Southern garden.

The blooms are long-lasting on the plant and in a vase. Typical to type, it blooms heavily in the spring then sporadically through the summer and fall here in central NC. I've noticed a mild susceptibility to black spot but no other serious diseases or pests.

Gypsy rose is red/orange with redish pick reverse.. where Gypsy Carnival is more a bright red with a yellow/white reverse. Although it is noted to have good disease resistance, I have had problems with mildew, which may be due to our cool damp springs.
