This is probably the most cold tender of all the larger Caryotas and really struggles in California except perhaps in the perfect microclimates of zone 10b. Not too many tall ones, if any, in California, though plenty of palms identified as this (but are not). In Florida, even in zone 10a, this plant performs better and grows well over 60' there.
