This appears to be one of those plants which get better and better with age. If you want this to display in your beds or planters this year, buy it, don’t start it from seed unless you start it very early indoors. It took four months from seed to bloom, and then it was time for it to go into the greenhouse for the winter.
While this variety is compact and full with abundant beautiful foliage, I understand it will eventually become a shrub or small tree if grown in the ground in a suitable climate.
Edit: 6/23/13 Hardiness was overrated for this plant. It didn't survive a winter in an area rated as 8b. I still consider it a beautiful, outstanding plant and will obtain a replacement, however it will need to be overwintered in my greenhouse.
