The one I saw growing in a sunny bed at a friends house was GORGEOUS when in bloom and the brown foliage is quite attractive too....
G. x antipodeum isn't hardy north of Z7. Intolerant of hot summers, this is a cool-summer plant. In North America, this is not a plant for the east.
