This...Read More garlic survived winter temps down to 0*F with no mulch and summer temps up to 110*F, but struggled in the heat. Bulb size was good, although not as large as the seed bulbs that I purchased. I think the excessive heat may have been a factor. Although it performed OK, all of the hardnecks that I grew out performed the softnecks in this climate.
I don't have a very sophisticated pallet, so I can't really judge it against the taste of other garlic I grew - except to say it was, as were the others, MUCH stronger, spicier and picant than any store bought one I've ever tasted.
