Last s...Read Morepring the base started to rot, so I made cuttings from the tops. I replanted the pot and put another cutting into an outdoor pot and yet another into the ground. The outdoor pot is under a canvas canopy, but the in-ground plant is unprotected in winter and was not damaged in the Dec. 2014 freeze to 26 F. I give this plant water about every couple weeks. All of the plants are in partial shade, although the original pot gets several hours of afternoon summer sun. This crestate form is apparently a wild hybrid of Hoodia and Stapelia and is sometimes called Hoodiapelia beukmanii.
