Sadly, however, it didn't return for me this spring. Had three plants in what I consider prime real estate -- raised bed, morning sun. It's supposed to be hardy to zone 5, and I'm 5b, so maybe that's cutting it too close. We did have a very snowy winter and an extremely cold spring. I liked it so much I've ordered three more. Will try to give it extra protection this winter and hope for the best.
2009 update: this plant definitely isn't reliably hardy for me. Came back weakly this year. Moved plants to a pot and still they're barely there. Could be something I'm doing wrong, but I won't use it again, unless as an annual. Too bad, it's gorgeous.
