This very vigorous, floriferous 2007 introduction is far and away the longest-blooming; and as if that weren't enough, it also combines pink and blue tones on every petal.
Bred by crossing both pink and blue cultivars of G. wallichianum with other pink-flowered varieties, 'Sweet Heidy' offers much improved bloom ability and a semi-trailing habit that works well in a variety of garden and container uses, from difficult slopes to hanging baskets. 'Sweet Heidy' was introduced by Marco van Noort of the Netherlands and named for his wife. It has been extensively trialed, and found to be adaptable, dependable, and very easy to maintain. Zones 4-8.
