It had invaded and we had cut it back with a tractor when we first moved in 4 years ago as the property had not been kept up for several years. We had to reclaim the back fields also. I have been trying to id this plant for some time as I enjoy it as the border to the camp next to our property. I live in Western NY.

The flowers are quite beautiful amongst the other plant foliage growing nearby (coneflowers, goldenrod, liatris). Just wanted to warn fokks that it may take a while for the plant to establish itself.
