We are due to go back late this year (2017) so could possibly bring something back, but I'm unsure of the customs situation regarding this, or if it might be forbidden in Mauritius to buy a plant to bring back?
Was thinking along the lines of wither Trochetia Boutoniana, or Frangipani, (White, more fragrance)

Thank you,
Steve.
Trochetias are endemic to Mauritius, about 5 species which are boutoniana, uniflora, triflora, blackburniana and parviflora (which is t...Read Morehe rarest among them.) T. boutoniana can be found in some nurseries now and it is also the national flower of Mauritius.
In its natural habitats does not propagates easily due to vegetal parasites like the "chinese guava" and also because monkeys eat and destroy the fruits and seeds. There have been several stamps issued for Trochetias. Can be propagated by seeds but is less difficult by air-layering. There is also one variety which is endemic to Reunion island, that is Trochetia granulata . Trochetia boutoniana's flowers are bell-shaped like T. blackburniana. Though it's easy to propagate by air layering, it tend to stay small or do not develops well or healthyly. Trochetias are better in soil does not like to stay in pots too long. Seedpod's shape is like Hibiscus pod but is beige-white in colour and hairy. Seeds are tiny & glossy brown and is arranged like in hibiscus ; a seedpod can contains 20+ seeds in general. If seeds are viable seeds can germinate as fast as after 6 days.
