'Sensation' or the airy orange variety, 'Bright Lights' are hit or miss depending on your local spot and the type of hotter or cooler summer; weather; 'Picotee' is fabulous for it's quicker blooming time and beautiful variety of pinks and magentas, the same with 'Seashells' variety.
This spring I found Burpee's 'Summer Dreams' in a local store, packet advertised, "Papery white petals brushed with hot pink on early blooming plants". Well it is the first week of August and they are just starting to bud and bloom, so they have taken longer than their 'early blooming, 60-65 day' label and they are white, flat white. I am not seeing any hint of pink anywhere. Only three have opened so I am hoping for some color like the lovely light pink petals/hot pink center like the photograph on the front packet.
