I've placed it along an east-facing fence where it gets sun in the morning and by early to mid-afternoon is in shade. The soil is heavy clay, which I've broken up and amended with a lot of organic material, as well as covering the surface with mulch after planting.
It's now mid-June, and the rose has settled in happily. It is covered in buds and has gained at least a foot in height since I planted it. The flowers have started opening and are a lovely clear lemon yellow with glossy deep green foliage. The flowers fade to pale yellow as they age and are lightly fragrant. I really love this rose!
