It is a climber, but with short internodes, so it does not get rangey. It makes a nice tight display with its petioles nearly horizontal while the leaves are held nearly vertical, pointing downward.
It can endure low light but with strong lighting (up to 4 hours of sun per day) it will grow vigorously and beautifully. As with most climbing Philos, it will benefit very much from a pole to climb on. A straight, upright natural branch with good bark would be nice, or you can make a pole from a sturdy garden stake with coir (coco fiber) matting wrapped around, tightly bound.
