OP: "A few plants of Maryland dwarf holly were growing in this yard of clay when we bought the house in '76, and I plan to add more. It's wonderful that there's an American variety that grows so low! Pretty berries and leaves, and it's particularly magical in the snow. I never do anything to it except trim dead branches occasionally, and my transplants have been successful."
