It never did die back and bloomed most of the winter. I also had it in a SE area and it did well there also. I do have a large tree in the yard which shades the pot in the heat of the summer, and allows the sun to shine on the pot in the winter months when the leaves are off the tree. I do cut back on the watering in the winter so it will rest a bit and by the end of February it is up and blooming again. I have had them come back for several years now and enjoy their blooms and fragrance. This last year I put pots of them under the trees in the front yard with violets and they did well there also. I have collected seeds and have shared them with my neighbors and friends.

Gillyflower has naturalized in my garden.

It has the most wonderful fragrance. The color is nice, too.
