Mr. Murray sent the plant to a Mrs. Ayre, a noted botanist in St. John's, Newfoundland, at the time. She sent it to a friend in the UK. The plant has been known in the UK since and more recently has made it back to North America. I was given two plants last year from a grower in New England (New Hampshire I think) and so the selection has been repatriated back to Newfoundland after some 70 years!
