It is a good eating and very good flavored variety.It spreds by sending out runners with a small plant growing at the end, They then start sending roots into the soil at the bottom of the small plant on the end of the runner. This plant can be invasive in very warm wet areas, but will be killed by any frost. This Taro can be grown in regular garden soil with regular to high moisture needs --or--as a wet land Taro in a container of water with soil, or in a wet location, or in up to a foot of water, as long as the leaves are out of the water. -THIS MUST BE COOKED BEFORE EATING. Boil in salt water [at least 10-15 min] to destroy the calcium crystals that irritate the mouth and throat.This variety contains enough Calcium crystals to make it advisable to pick only young leaves and leave the older ones for the plant, unless you are pressure cooking, than all leaves can be used, -Pressure cooking @ 10 pounds for 10 min is good for making greens, -or for at least 60 min. for canning pint jars.
