I left it in the pot for about a year and didn't ...Read Morereally pay to much attention to it and it did very well. Repotted to a larger pot for another couple of years. Blooms are eyecatching gorgeous. Had a freeze back to back and although it was covered, too heavy to move indoors, the cold got to the top of it. I cut the top out and the rest survived and still bloomed. I just planted it in the ground a couple of weeks ago and it has new leaves starting to form. I think it is very happy it is allowed to have free reign in the ground finally. Hibiscus is a good bet for beginners as they take a lot of abuse and keep on blooming.
