I love the beautiful deep blue flowers on this columbine and it reseeds freely so I always have some blooming in the spring. Once it stops and starts to go to seed, I bend the flower stalk over so the seeds will return to my garden and not get blown all over when they release. I have lots of babies this year and am trying to plant around them so they keep growing. I've also transplanted some of the babies to other flower beds. I have nothing bad to say about this easy to grow and beautiful columbine.

Little volunteers have sprung up in a few locations. They're easy to eradicate (if I wished), but I'm happy to have as many as possible. I've read that Aquilegia are relatively short-lived perennials, so I'm happy to have a few "new" plants periodically spring up. As the flowers are just a simple, pretty purple, I'm not sure if the seedlings are true.
