Mine was covered a few months ago and I kept picking them off until I read...duh, caterpillars turn into butterflies...let 'em feed! So, I did. They are done now and my garden is full of butterflies. Don't spray pesticides on it for this reason. If you want a beautiful vine all the time, plant two and relocate the caterpillars when they come to feed to the "feeding vine". A must for butterfly lovers!
