It is pollinated by a tiny ...Read Morewasp (Blastophaga). Birds and bats contribute to its dispersion. They eat the fruits and its seeds pass unharmed through their digestive tract. Occasionally they end up in-between the branches of another plant where they germinate and start their lives as epiphyte plants. Eventually they will grow strong prolongations (aerial roots) that will reach the ground and be transformed into what it will be the trunk of a future independent tree, killing the tree that was supporting them on the very beggining!
