I obtained seed from Tomatofest for this variety and grew 6 plants in 2010 in Utah. Our season was cool and wet all through May, and then...Read More instantly hot. This variety did not set friut well when it was hot (blossum drop), and because of the flower, was not a self pollinator. I allowed a broccolli plant to bloom near my tomatoes which brought in a lot of pollinator insects and had a spell of cooler weather, then these tomatoes took off. I had a much higher than average yeild from this variety compared to the other 9 varieties of tomatoes that I grew last year (Cherokee Purple, Brandywine OTV, Amana Orange, Black, Black Krim, long keeper, persimon, Brandywine pink, and an unknown black that I got from my dad). It had no cracking, but I did have a few tomatoes with blossum end rot whereas my other tomatoes did not have that problem. It also had some yellowing of the leaves in the lower part of the plant that I did not experience with the other varieties. Its a pretty tomato. Taste wise, I did not prefer its higher tart flavor, but I don't like tart much. My wife favored it more than I did because she likes to eat tart foods. Even though it is indeterminant, it produced enough to bottle and its skin lent well to bottling.
