If anyone reading this lives in a sunny, low-rainfall area, then this might be the perfect plant with which to begin a membership in BloomswithaView's Dead Lawn Society.
Germination details: Sow at 68*F for germination in about 2 weeks Norman C. Deno, in Seed Germination Theory and Practice gives similar instructions, with the added note that all seed in the genus of Townsendia require dry storage before the seed will germinate at 70*F.
