The combination of new and old blooms is quite eye-catching and the substantial petals hold up well so the blooms usually last at least 4-5 days barring any strong storms.
The stems are very sturdy and upright. It's a vigorous grower and has handsome, full, darker green foliage throughout the summer until it starts to die back in the fall before going dormant. If you enjoy single peonies, you'll definitely want this one. :-)

The color is a vivid red with a little blue in it, the blue becoming more pronounced as the bloom ages. The gold boss is large and full. My 5 year old plant had 15 blooms this year. It takes no special care. It stops traffic!
