Fruits should be collected in late summer or early fall. The seeds should not be allowed to dry out before sowing or storage. After the seeds are collected, soak the seeds for ten minutes in hot water before storing or sowing in order to eliminate bacteria. After soaking, stratify them immediately in sphagnum moss in plastic bags at 40 degrees. It may also be propagated from stem tip semi-hardwood cuttings and hardwood cuttings taken in late fall or winter.
