The in-curving didn't start until the later part of bloom stage but this flower last a very long time on the plant less so in the vase because of the giant size. Its a prolific flower producer if you keep cutting the bloom. If you leave the bloom on the plant it will work less hard. A very tall and sturdy plant, I didn't stake it and I live in a windy area.

It blooms at 7 feet tall in zone 9 in mid-July through September (although it is supposed to be only 5 feet tall). I don't disbud mine because I'm not looking for size with this one. Treat with fungicide toward the end of the summer because it becomes prone to mildew in late August. Leaves are huge. Put one of these in a vase and they last at least a week. You can pick them fairly closed and still have them open indoors. Everyone will be bowled over.
