Spathiphyllum, Peace Lily 'Sensation'

I just picked one of these up from The Home Depot here in Flagstaff. It was being sold in a 10 inch nursery pot for 12 bucks (with no men...Read Moretion of 'Sensation'). The plant was a bit on the floppy side and a bit beat up, so I was able to talk them down to 6 dollars. I sure hope I can get it to thrive. It seems to be OK health wise considering it's poor handling and care. I bought 3 bamboo stakes to help keep it upright, and I also cleaned off about a pound of hard water deposits from its leaves. I only became aware of this 'Sensation" for the first time a couple of weeks ago at a local nursery here, and really wanted to get one. Unfortunately they only have one, and they want $160.00 for it! Too rich for my blood. So if I can get it to do well for me, it was a well spent 6 bucks for this 4 ft specimen. If anyone has any tips to pass along, please feel free.
Update: 6/12/11- It's doing very well. I think it likes it better down here in Phoenix. I know I do.

The "flowers" are unusual, long lasting, and quite stunning. The foliage is dark green, the flowers white, a striking combination. I only hope it continues to flourish.

This very large Spathiphyllum cultivar varies from all other Spathiphyllum cultivars/varieties by having much larger, lusher, tropical-ap...Read Morepearing leaves. They are dark green to somewhat light green in coloration.

The spathes ("flowers") of this cultivar (Spathiphyllum 'Sensation') are also much different than all others. They are much larger and longer in shape, with a pointed tip. They are pure white in coloration (when younger), and usually turn green as they age, although they may sometimes green at a pretty young age. The spathes may also be white for a long time before turning green. The true flowers inside the spathe are tan or light brown in color and is much longer than other Spathiphyllum varieties' true flowers. It has also much more, smaller "ridges" or "bumps" on it than other varieties.

Flowers can last fairly long.

This cultivar likes warm, humid conditions and misting, but can tolerate very slightly cooler temperatures than that. It is easy to grow indoors and can really provide a spectacular effect. It likes the soil it is growing in to be kept moist (but mostly evenly).
