True it does have a rose smell but it is tinged with a delicious citrus accent to it making it an OUTSTANDING fragrance. The flowers are a work of art - so beautiful! I would say this variety even smells better than the Singapore variety which also is so very fragrant. Feed your plants well with lots of phosphorous to get them to bloom. My flowers don't open as fully as those pictured, but the smell is unbelievable. I'm so glad I have this variety along with my beloved Celadine!!
Why more people don't grow plumeria is beyond me. I've never found an easier or more rewarding plant! I bring them in for the winter into my garage where they drop leaves and go dormant (the garage is heated). In the spring, I haul them back out to grow around my pool. They love to be root bound too so that the soil is fast draining. Just feed them, water them, give them full sun, and ENJOY! I've grown them for over 31 years now.
