Honeywort, Blue Shrimp Plant, Blue Wax Flower 'Kiwi Blue'

I also have borage, and have never had a problem. Almost every visitor to my garden has stopped and admired this plant. It resents being transplanted -- but I've done it successfully.

I bought (expensive!) seeds and grew this nice plant a few years ago in my mixed vegetable-herb-flower garden. While the packet describe...Read Mored the flowers as blue, they were really more purple-ish. The bees loved the blossoms, and I thought the plant was sort of exotic looking and somewhat pleasing.

The problem is, that this plant is a relative to a favorite of mine, Borage, which I also grow. The next year I got a bunch of yucky hybrids from both the borage and cerinthe plants! Not only were they ugly, they were late to develop! If you love borage--as I do--don't bother with this over-rated plant. If you don't grow borage, have the nice adventure and please the bees. It's not a bad plant, but to my mind it's neither as pretty nor as useful as borage and will screw up your reseeding.
